RMJM has appointed Raymond Park as its new Dubai Chief Executive Officer. Raymond will be based in the company’s office in d3, Dubai Design District, and will take over from current CEO, Harry Downie, who is retiring at the end of May.

Raymond is a well respected member of the development and construction industry in Dubai and is a former Director of RMJM.  He has a wealth of experience in the Middle East construction industry which has seen him gain a first class reputation that has encompassed periods with design consultants, real estate developers and project managers. He has overseen some of the world’s largest high profile mixed use developments, and his proven ability to manage the often competing demands of budget, programme and quality, will be key to maintaining client satisfaction and RMJM’s position at the forefront of the design industry.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Raymond back to RMJM to lead our Middle East business into its next stage of development”, stated Peter Morrison, CEO of holding group, Duthus Investments.  “We thank Harry Downie for his hard work over the years, during which time he has laid a solid foundation and we move onwards with a bright future and some exciting initiatives to come”.

RMJM has had a full time presence in the UAE since 1970 and current projects – such as the Gate Avenue – a major new retail destination at DIFC; the Innovation Hub – Tecom’s latest business park; new hotels for the Hilton and Holiday Inn brands, and the Executive Architect role for Santiago Calatrava’s observation tower at Dubai Creek Harbour – demonstrate the breadth and flexibility of the company’s design skills.  At the same time RMJM is making significant progress in Saudi Arabia, particularly in Makkah, where the company’s sensitive approach to design in the Holy City has been much commended.

Commenting on his new appointment Raymond stated: “RMJM has a team of exceptional designers in Dubai and an impressive list of clients with high demands and expectations.  I am extremely excited by the prospect of driving RMJM’s business forwards and broadening the scope and reach of the projects that we deliver in the region”.

Raymond is a Chartered Surveyor and Building Engineer and is currently studying for an MBA with a specialism in Strategic Planning, with Edinburgh Business School in Dubai.
