RMJM’s Hillingdon Civic Centre has gained worldwide press exposure recently thanks to a decision by the preservation body Historic England to grant the building listed status. The Hillingdon Civic Centre joins 16 other postmodern buildings that have also been protected in a bid to “stem losses of this important style of architecture.”

Duncan Wilson, Chief Executive, Historic England commented: “Post-Modern architecture brought fun and color to our streets. Housing schemes were enlivened with bold façades, a school technology building was decorated with columns designed as screws, a business park injected with glamour. These are scarce survivals of a really influential period of British architecture and these buildings deserve the protection that listing gives them.”

RMJM’s Hillingdon Civic Centre is featured in DezeenArchdailyBBC and the Guardian.

  • First off I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do
not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.

I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any suggestions or hints? Thanks!
