Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, USA
Originally designed by the prominent New York firm McKim Mead & White in the 1930s, the Girard Trust buildings were to be the most impressive retail banking facilities in Philadelphia.
The restored buildings have now become symbols of the city's renaissance and now house a 330 room hotel, including three restaurants and a 500-seat ballroom in the former safe deposit area.
The rehabilitation of the Girard Trust buildings achieved Certified Rehabilitation status by meeting the requirements of the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office and the National Park Service's Rehabilitation Investment Tax Credit Program.
