North Glasgow College, Scotland
The design for North Glasgow College, a 2009 RIBA award winner, creates a strong contemporary identity for the college and provides a state-of-the-art learning resource centre, conference facilities and a fully equipped sports hall which form the social heart of the college campus.
The two elements of the college - academic teaching spaces and technical workshops - have been expressed as separate forms linked with a glazed corridor, creating interest and architectural tension. Welcoming public space around the development is enhanced by contemporary landscape design and artwork.
