Nicolson Square, Scotland
In 2005 STRATA prepared a strategic masterplan for Edinburgh's southside with the aim of improving the city's public spaces.
Following the initial masterplanning work, the rejuvenation of Nicolson Square was completed in 2008. The design treats the garden as a stage, so reflecting the city's musical and dramatic heritage as well as incorporating the historical fountain and monument.
The Nicolson Square project is likely to be a catalyst for the ongoing improvement of Edinburgh's public gardens.
