Faculty of Education, University of Glasgow, Scotland
Glasgow University's Education Faculty asked RMJM to create a strong visual identity and improve the quality of existing accommodation to current standards including full compliance with DDA requirements.
The vertical circulation visible through the large glass façade from the street creates a feeling of perpetual activity within the building. The picture windows also provide a frame for fantastic views across the city. Creative coloured lighting on each floor has been incorporated to give the building a theatrical night-time appearance.
This project was awarded the Civic Trust Commendation 2004 and Roses Design Awards 2003 for Commendation 'Best Commercial Category'.
