China Merchants Bank Tower, China
The China Merchants Bank Tower in Shanghai incorporates a unique architectural design in a form reminiscent of a pair of curved sails; a direct reference to the client's shipping history. It also incorporates state-of-the art environmental features such as ground source heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
The interior design concept is carefully integrated with the architecture and the exterior landscape to strengthen its status as an urban landmark. In keeping with best practices materials are also selected to reduce the environmental impact of the building which expects to achieve a LEED platinum rating.
