RMJM's designs for a destination resort on the north-east shore of Lake Balaton create a new cultural, environmental and economic centre for the local community.
The 47-hectare site, once the Hungarian Communist Party's summer retreat, is of historical importance and outstanding natural beauty. In-depth analysis of the site itself and of the local flora, fauna, ecology, geology and culture inform the masterplan which opens the once-closed site to the public, enhances the beauty of the existing landscape and builds upon the character of the region to create an exemplary gateway to the Balaton.
