Project description

This new educational campus is located on the historic dockyard near Chatham Maritime in Kent. The new "Universities at Medway" is a unique partnership between the University of Kent, University of Greenwich, Canterbury Christchurch University and Mid-Kent College, and aims to increase student numbers in Medway to more than 10,000 by 2012.

The Grade II listed Pilkington Building, formerly the Canteen Building, marks the second phase of development by the Universities. The building houses a number of social and teaching spaces including a new cafe, a 180 seat raked lecture theatre, flexible meeting space used for exhibitions, conferences etc, and a number of teaching classrooms on the upper floor.
