Corporate Social Responsibility
RMJM Group acknowledges its duties as a corporate citizen and understands that it has a responsibility towards those impacted by its work. Employee engagement is key to RMJM’s approach and staff are encouraged to participate in the changes that RMJM is making not only within the practice but in the wider world as well.
Examples include:
• Supporting the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust by designing a healthcare facility for the Maasai in Kenya. RMJM employees are running in the ING New York Marathon in November 2009 to raise money for the project, find out more
• Architecture for Everyone, an award-winning three year community outreach programme in the UK designed to encourage greater diversity in the architecture profession by providing young people with the opportunity to attend free design workshops and win scholarships to Harvard University
• Provision of an in-house environmental design consultancy with progressive policies on waste reduction, energy consumption and responsible sourcing.
• A $1.5m support package for Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design to fund a programme designed to arm graduates with business, as well as design, skills.
• A volunteering policy for all staff, potentially donating 30,000 hours to charitable work every year
